About Our Partnership With Docs of Gaming
As you might know already, we reached out to Doctors of Gaming for organizing a fundraiser event – and they are on board! Thanks to this enthusiastic cooperation, we have set up a Twitch Live Streaming Event. It will be live on Saturday, November 21st, 2020: check out our Facebook event page and sign up if you haven’t done so already!
Why a Twitch Event?
We have some long-term plans to become more self-sufficient in the future (we will keep you in the loop!), but we need funds to keep our platform going until we get there.
Gaming events have already proven to be an effective method of fundraising to front the current COVID-19 pandemic. When Doctors of Gaming agreed to participate, we jumped on this wonderful opportunity to provide entertainment and gather funds!
Why Does a Volunteer-Run Organization Need Funds?
We are a volunteer-run organization, which means that everybody works for PPE Needed in their own time, and nobody gets paid. The money raised through this fundraiser and any future events will go towards establishing better foundations for our project, allowing the PPE Needed to function in the future and providing doctors and healthcare workers the access to PPE they need.
What Are We Gonna Do With Those Funds?
Specifically, we are looking to raise money to cover:
- The costs of keeping the platform online. Although our platform is currently still running thanks to some pro-bono collaborations, they will be ending at the end of November. We are currently looking for ways to afford to keep our platform online and usable for anyone who will need it.
- The costs of becoming a foundation – which would allow us to accept more sizeable donations from partners and organizations. This includes both the fee required by the Dutch government to apply and take on the nomenclature of a foundation, but also the costs to create a set up for our organization that would let us function long term (e.g. administration and book-keeping).
- For people to be able to use our platform, they need to know about it first. All of our marketing efforts were done entirely for free, and we have managed to reach a global audience. Imagine what we could do with a budget for platform development and marketing: we could be the global foundation for PPE access that we strive to be.
We hope you will be able to help our endeavors. If you are in a position to donate and would like to help, please feel free to do so on our GoFundMe page.
